The room was very clean, a bit small but ok as we don't stay in the room during in the day so only use for showering and sleeping. Bed was very comfy, shower clean and worked properly. Parking good on the roadside with a permit. Mark the host was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely use again

Excellent location for access to the cricket ground where watched the Yorkshire match for 2 days. It was chilly on the first day so I came back to the hotel and watched it from our room(4).The beds were comfortable, and the room clean.Mark was very hospitable and helpful throughout.Sensible arrangement for breakfast - no need for a cooked breakfast, and very good value.

Nice hotel, could do with a few touch ups here and there but nothing major, could do with a shelf in shower area and in the shower itself. Mark the owner is a really nice person andfriendly couldn't do enough foryou. We will go back.👍👍

I stayed at the arran with my sister for one night when we went to the Gregory porter concert at the Scarborough open air theatre. The location was exceedingly convenient - short walk to the theatre. Also a short walk to the beautiful peasholm park and north bay beach. The room was comfortable, clean and had excellent views over the cricket ground. The owner was very helpful and breakfast was a bargain at £2!

The Arran B&B was perfectly adequate for my needs during my stay in Scarborough. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. I was actually up-graded from the single room I had booked so had an ensuite instead of a shared bathroom. This was a bonus!I had tea/coffee making facilities and a TV. The room was clean, light and airy.

Stayed at the Arran for one night. Very pleasant and accommodating host, very helpful and approachable. The room has a great view over the cricket ground, basic but clean and spacious. Small en suite with toiletries. Tea and coffee provided. The room decor is a little dated, but that goes for a lot of these B&Bs. It was clean which was important. No cooked breakfast but for an extra £1.50 pp you could get a basic continental type breakfast that included two cereal choices, bread and fruit loaf to toast, juice and fruit plus a pot of tea or coffee. More than suited us for the morning.

I had a nice stay in Arran, where I stayed for three nights while visiting and exploring North Yorkshire Moors. The manager of the hotel was extremely nice, friendly and very helpful, you ask and you have :-)) The room was clean and comfy enough for what I needed travelling on a budget. Perfect starting point to explore North Yorkshire Moors. The single bed seemed to be very small but it might be due to the fact that I'm used to a king size one. Shared bathroom was for my solely use, which was a bonus. The hotel is in a very short walking distance to the sea front. There is no car park so you have to park your car on the road. It's free for overnight parking from 5pm until 9am. It was very quiet during my stay, and there was no breakfast served due to the new regulations - Covid-19. Overall it's a very good place to stay for the price, and the location is a big bonus. The only down was a very weak WiFi in my room, but luckily I was able to use mobile data on my phone.

We look for three things when booking a b and b.1 Location2 Cleanliness3 Price. This place ticked all the boxes for us.Yes it's a bit rough around the edges but the price we paid was well worth the money. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shared bathroom and toilet facilities were clean too.Check in was swift and the lady who checked us in and cooked a lovely breakfast the next morning was friendly and happy to chat and offer advice etc.Would we come back? Without hesitation as it was perfect for what we needed.

The Arran is lovely and clean and the owners are friendly and professional. Our room was on the top floor which was quite the walk but the room was clean and comfy. The lack of an ensuite may put us off returning but only because we have a young child who struggled going up and downstairs when needing to use the bathroom but we definitely can't complain at our experience, Thankyou for having us.

Stayed 4 nights in early September.Only met one staff member during my stay, Tracy, who welcomed me on arrival and issued my parking pass. Plenty of room to park on the road outside the premises.Room was a single and although quite small was adequate for my needs. Washing facilities were provided in the room and the shared toilet and shower were just outside in the corridor.Breakfast was prepared by Tracy and was ready straight away, no waiting. Plenty of cereal, juice, tea or coffee and a full English.Didn't spend much time on the premises as I was out every day, however during the evening the place was nice and quiet and I slept very well.In my opinion, Arran could do with a bit of modernising here and there, but for the price I paid I can't complain, after all it's your basic seaside B+B, not the Savoy.

On the down side the place is showing it's age decor wise and is, to be kind, in a time warp. Ideally situated for Open Air Theatre etc. The staff made up for any shortcomings. WiFi included in price and on street parking for £2.

A bed & breakfast guest house with full English breakfast which was cooked fresh and how you wanted it and plenty of it. Room 1 was aclean, comfortable room for 3 overlooking the cricket ground at the back so was very quiet.Less than ten minutes walk to the waterfront, city centre, Peasholm Park, Open Air Theatre, Alpamare Water Park and Scarborough Castle - Free WIFI available. Parking permits available for guests at a charge of £2.The hosts were polite and pleasant. The only downside was that the room was a little tired and would benefit from new carpets and bedding.

Had nice family room overlooking the cricket ground. Only problem was it was very warm and couldn't get the window to stay open. Short walk to open air theatre and to town centre.

Hi Arran - Tanya and Naomi. I found the guest house to be very good value and convenient. Staff were very helpful and Scarborough has a lot to recommend it. Very well placed for the beaches and local bars/restaurants. Lovely breakfast run by a couple of top northern lasses !

A wonderfully warm welcome was given to me on my arrival, the rooms are clean and comfortable and have tea making facilities and plenty of supplies. Breakfast was excellent. Only a short walk from Peasholm park and the north bay.

Firstly, we arrived to Arran and the outside of the building looks run down and shocking, needs a freshen up!Then, inside the building was very homely and clean completely different to the outside. Our room was spacious and clean just a shame the toilets and showers you have to share with other guests.Breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly.Would of been better with a little bar too!

First impressions; very clean.Pleasant proprietor/s and easy to interact with them. Free use of the lounge.Very reasonable rates. Room was not an ensuite but that didn't matter as the toilet and shower were nearby.Breakfast was very generous!I was only sorry that we had made plans for Sunday lunch so I was unable to do it justice! Paul and his partner could not have done anymore to make us welcome.

Very friendly host, an excellent cooked breakfast (that will keep you going until the evening), clean room, comfortable bed. If you are going to be doing things round north bay the location is excellent. If around south bay you face a 20 minute walk.

We stayed one night at the Arran guest house and the owner was so courteous and helpful. He made sure we were comfortable, he was cheerful and considerate. We had a lovely comfortable room en suite and we had a very big cooked breakfast, it was lovely. We found no fault and were happy at this guest house, and we had travelled 6 hours from the south of England, we were very cold and the owner made sure the heating was sufficient. We cannot praise him and his efforts any higher. The room was comfortable. Highly Recommended.Good value for money.

B&B stay was lovely. Very friendly. Room was very nice. Only slight problem was as the house is old the room was very cold as there is no double glazing. A menu for breakfast would be nice or ask guests what they would like on there breakfast. Breakfasts were too big and this would cut down on any waste. This is no reflection on our stay.

Stayed in the Arran for one night in a family ensuite room. The price was very reasonable for a last minute booking for two adults and a child. The staff were more than polite and keen to help. Bedroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast was fantastic and plenty of it. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything's great especially the breakfast. However, do keep in mind that there is no lift so if u have big baggage u might want to reconsider. Also, the washroom is a bit small and the wifi is so so. We had a pleasant stay anyways :)

This was a late booking, so there was only a non ensuite room left. We were made fully aware of this, and it wasn't a problem. The B & B was clean, staff were very helpful and friendly, and breakfast was plentiful. All in all, good value for money, and nice and close to town.

having booked thro Booking.com we were a little sceptical of what we would find when we arrived. Our doubts were quickly dispelled. The rooms were very clean.Beds comfortable and warm. The breakfast was out of this world/ It wasnt a full English breakfast, it was a full full English breakfast, there was too much for me to eat. The host, Paul, made us feel at home immediately and nothing was too much trouble. Superb !!!!

Upon arrival I was met by Paul, friendly and funny and had a great chi chat while checking in. No hassle check-in in the comfy lounge. My room was a single room with everything I needed, kettle, sink with mirror, TV and wardrobe. The toilet/shower was on the landing just outside my door but that didn't matter. The whole guest house was clean, tidy and homely.Breakfast was coffee with toast, grapefruit and a selection of cereal, after came a cooked full English breakfast of bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms egg and hash brown, even had fried bread and tasted great!!No complains what's so ever. It's a cracking typically English guest house old fashionrdly cute and quaint anf I will be staying there again! Cheers Paul and team!

Had a fantastic bank holiday. Our room was very spacious and clean. No ensuit but it didn't bother us as a shower was right outside our room and the bathroom just a few steps away. Paul was a great host, no matter how busy he was he had time for all his guests. Very helpful and full of good advice. I have not stayed in a guest house for over 20 years because of a bad experience, but my stay at the Arran has changed my view. I will definitely be back, soon I hope.

The Arran is a hotel that can be described as 'Traditional'....But it is clean and tidy inside, the hospitality is second to none, breakfast was fantastic and overall the stay was top notch.Points to note:Single glazing allows you to hear the glorious sounds of the seagulls...even at 5am.If you like to talk about football, this is the the place for you....Paul, (the host) obviously loves football...sadly, my knowledge amounts to about the words you could write on the back of a postage stamp...so sadly I couldn't converse with Paul for too long regarding football, enjoyable chats regarding holidays became the main feature of our chats.Only downside to my stay was that the internal WIFI signal was quite weak and slow in the room, but I was kindly offered the front room to undertake my work if I wished too, fortunately, 'EE'4G signal was great, so I could use that.As I said, overall...my stay was top notch and would happily stay there again.
